AI Building

Build an Atrium app with AI

One minimised file with everything an AI tool needs: how to work, the hard rules, the full app contract and the design system. Upload it to any LLM, then describe your app.

ATRIUM-AI-BUILD.mdMarkdown
  1. Upload the file to ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor or any AI tool (or paste its contents).
  2. Describe the app you want in plain English.
  3. Let the AI ask you for the API key when it needs one.

Build an Atrium app with AI

View .md

You don’t need to write code to build an Atrium app. You describe what you want to an AI coding tool, it writes the app, and COHO hosts it for you, so there’s no server to run.

Get the ADK into your AI

  1. Copy the prompt and paste it into Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT or any AI coding tool. It points the tool at the whole kit, design included.
Build me a COHO Atrium app.
First read this file in full. It has the instructions, the rules, the app contract and the design system: https://docs.coho.life/atrium-developer/ai-build.md
The app should: <describe what you want it to do>
  2. Or upload the file itself to tools without web access, or keep it in your repo or project knowledge.Download ATRIUM-AI-BUILD.md
  3. Point an agent at the index: https://docs.coho.life/atrium-developer/llms.txt. Every page is also available as Markdown from the buttons under its title.

Building screens? The Atrium design system opens in a new tab, with components you can copy.

An Atrium app is a small web service that plugs into COHO. Once a manager connects it in the COHO Store, COHO can:

  • tell your app when something happens, for example when a tenancy starts or ends
  • give your app a key so it can read and update data in COHO through the COHO API
  • show your app’s own screen inside COHO, if it has one

Your app lives outside COHO. COHO never runs your logic itself; it calls your app and your app calls COHO back.

A helper that runs in the background

No screen at all. It reacts to events or runs on a timetable, for example sending a welcome message when a tenancy starts.

A panel inside COHO

Your own page, shown inside COHO when a manager opens your app from the Store.

A settings form

A few simple preferences managers fill in from the Store, such as a send time or a subject line.

Apps can combine these. Not every app needs a screen.

  1. Try it safely on Playground (recommended): a separate copy of COHO with demo data, so you can see what you’re building without touching real customers.
  2. Give your AI the Atrium ADK (use the box above) and describe what you want.
  3. Your AI builds the app and COHO hosts it. You approve every step.
  4. Connect the app in the COHO Store and try it out, first on Playground, then in your real organisation.
