# What you need

A COHO account and an AI coding tool that can connect to COHO.

## 1. A COHO account

To put an app live, you need to be a manager in the COHO organisation the app is for, with access to the **Store**. Apps you build belong to that organisation. To try things first, use [Playground](../playground/).

## 2. An AI coding tool that supports MCP

MCP is how AI tools connect to other services. COHO has an MCP server your AI tool signs in to with your COHO account, so it can create and host apps for your organisation. The address is:

```text
https://mcp.coho.life/mcp
```

Pick your tool for setup instructions. When it asks you to sign in, use your normal COHO login.

<Tabs syncKey="ai-tool">
	<TabItem label="Cursor">
		In Cursor, add an MCP server in **Settings → MCP**, or add this to `.cursor/mcp.json` in your project:

		```json title=".cursor/mcp.json"
		{
		  "mcpServers": {
		    "coho": { "url": "https://mcp.coho.life/mcp" }
		  }
		}
		```

		Cursor's guide: [cursor.com/docs/mcp](https://cursor.com/docs/mcp)
	</TabItem>
	<TabItem label="Claude Code">
		In your terminal:

		```sh
		claude mcp add --transport http coho https://mcp.coho.life/mcp
		```

		Then run `/mcp` inside Claude Code to sign in.

	</TabItem>
	<TabItem label="Claude (desktop and web)">
		In Claude, open **Settings → Connectors**, choose **Add custom connector**, and paste the COHO address above.

	</TabItem>
	<TabItem label="VS Code + GitHub Copilot">
		Add this to `.vscode/mcp.json` in your project, then start the server from the file or the Extensions view:

		```json title=".vscode/mcp.json"
		{
		  "servers": {
		    "coho": { "type": "http", "url": "https://mcp.coho.life/mcp" }
		  }
		}
		```

		VS Code's guide: [code.visualstudio.com/docs/agent-customization/mcp-servers](https://code.visualstudio.com/docs/agent-customization/mcp-servers)
	</TabItem>
</Tabs>

Other tools that support remote MCP servers work too: add the same address.

## 3. A Playground invite (recommended)

Playground is a separate copy of COHO with demo data, for building and testing apps safely. It's invite-only: [request an invite](../playground/#request-an-invite).

## 4. Check it's working

Ask your AI:

```text title="Prompt" wrap
Using the COHO MCP tools, which COHO organisation am I connected to, and which Atrium apps does it already have?
```

It should name your organisation. Your AI only ever works on **that one organisation**, so check it's the right one before building anything.
